Everett Shooting- Washington: Everett, Washington Shooting Under Investigation After Man Found Dead

Authorities in Snohomish County are investigating a fatal shooting in Everett after a man was found dead following reports of gunfire in the area.

According to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to reports of shots fired in the Silver Lake area of Everett during the evening hours. When officers arrived at the scene, they located a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Emergency responders pronounced the man deceased at the scene. His identity has not yet been released, pending notification of family members.

Investigators with the Major Crimes Unit have taken over the case and are working to determine what led up to the shooting. At this time, officials have not confirmed a suspect or motive, and no arrests have been made.

Detectives processed the scene for evidence and canvassed the surrounding neighborhood for witnesses and surveillance footage that may help identify those involved. Authorities have not indicated whether the shooting was targeted or random.

Residents in the area reported hearing gunfire followed by a heavy police presence as multiple units responded and secured the scene.
